Even small fires can be daunting for someone who has never faced them and never used a fire extinguisher. CERT members are trained to recognize different fire sources and the types of extinguishing agents that can safely and quickly be used to smother a fire. Hands-on training in the use of chemical extinguishers gives the CERT members the confidence to face small fires that can safely be fought in a few seconds.

Residents encouraged to use ‘Ready SB’ before, during, and after emergencies

The new App “Ready SB”, provides residents with multiple resources that will assist them in preparing for a disaster. Ready SB is now available as a free download from the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store and can immediately help residents prepare themselves for emergencies.

Volunteer to be an actor in an emergency preparedness drill

Date and Time: Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm

Location: Ontario International Airport - 2500 E. Airport Drive, Ontario, CA (Specific location provided upon registration)

Cost: FREE

Description: Volunteer “actors” are needed to play returning American citizens to test the process and services for supporting Americans when they arrive back in the U.S. in the event of an emergency, war, or other crisis abroad.
